The lives of our amazing student-athletes are shaped every day by some phenomenal individuals. These teachers selflessly educate, develop and inspire and make a huge impact on the lives of our girls!
Each of our players were given the opportunity to choose and nominate and appreciate the teacher that has made the biggest impact on them. Our 2020 Teacher Appreciation Gift Card Winners were then picked from all of the nominated educators!

Go Crimson! Oct 30, 2020, 9:58 am Volleyball: 2020 MGVB Fall Season Update - COVID Impact to Learning and How that Impacts Volleyball
10/30/20 – Families should have received the announcement this morning that ISD 279 is taking action on increasing COVID cases. They have announced that all secondary students (gr. 6-12) will move from the hybrid model into full distance learning, effective Monday, Nov. 9.
We as coaches know that these changes are major impactors to the mental and physical health and wellbeing of our student athletes. I wanted to make sure that right from the start we had clarity on how this impacts our program and the girls ability to continue participation in hopes it would minimize some of the anxiety being felt.
Per the District direction, activities and sports WILL NOT be affected. "New guidance received just this week from the Minnesota Dept. of Education allows school districts to conduct full distance learning and maintain activities/athletics as long as district leaders determine that there is no substantial, uncontrolled community spread among activities participants and athletes. Therefore, at this time, we are continuing with high school activities and athletics. However, if we find substantial transmission within these programs, we will pause them for at least two weeks, following state guidance."
WE WILL CONTINUE TO PRACTICE & PLAY - Our season will move forward with practices and matches as currently scheduled. We do not have any updates on how/if this will impact things such as spectator attendance. As additional information or guidance is provided, we will work to be flexible and continue to provide as much as possible for our girls.
Please talk to your daughters about how this change is making them feel - some may sad that they will not be able to see friends in class, others may be nervous about being able to do well academically from home, some may be nervous about going to volleyball knowing that Covid cases are higher. Let them know also that our coaching staff is here if they ever need anything. There are any number of ways this could be on there minds and we want to be sure they know that they are supported both at home and at the gym!
Please reach out with any questions or needs!
Thanks!
