2020 MGBV Boys Volleyball Season Is HERE!
Mar 3, 2020, 12:49 am

Hello Crimson Volleyball!

The second season for our MG Crimson Boys Volleyball program is finally HERE! We are looking for any Maple Grove Guys from 7th Grade to 12th Grade that would like to give volleyball a try!

We will be holding three optional open gyms this week at MN Select Volleyball Center Wednesday (3/4), Thursday (3/5), and Friday (3/6) from 2:30 - 4:30 PM. This will be a chance for the guys to get some touches on the ball and ask any questions they have about the program.  We would love for parents to come and see what the program is about!  We will be asking $5 per player per attended open gym to cover court time.

Tryouts will take place on Monday (3/9) at MN Select Volleyball Center from 2:30 - 4:30 PM.

NOTE FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL FAMILIES - We know that a 2:30 PM start may be tight for your students to get over to the MN Select.  This is NOT an issue!  We want to work with your athletes and have them get there as soon as they can after school.  This is true for the open gyms, try-outs, and eventually practices.

Please see the flyer below for more information and feel free to reach out to Coach Jamison with any questions!

Volleyball: Welcome our new Head Volleyball

Coach Jamison Gray!

Coach Jamison Gray12/2/19 - Coach Gray is no stranger to the Crimson Family and is honored at the opportunity to take the reins as the new Head Varsity Volleyball Coach.

Gray was born and raised in northeast Ohio where he was a multi-sport athlete through high school and a Div I baseball recruit for Butler University.  With over 30 years of coaching and officiating experience across multiple sports, he has a deep passion for positive youth development and mentoring.  Gray started his volleyball coaching career here in Minnesota within the club volleyball scene in 2014 where he found a love for this sport and has never looked back.  He has spent the last 6 years coaching for Minnesota Select Volleyball Club and jumped at opportunities to find roles within USA Volleyballs High Performance Pipeline program. His high school coaching career began with a single season at Totino Grace HS before having the opportunity to come to Maple Grove.  Gray has spent the last 4 season as Varsity Assistant for the Crimson girls program and earned 2018 MSHSL Section 5AAA Assistant Coach of the Year honors.  Last year he took on the head coach role for the inaugural season of the Maple Grove Boys Club Volleyball program and is looking forward to helping the sport continue to grow.

Coach Gray works in supply chain management for General Mills and lives in Maple Grove with his wife and two daughters.  When he’s not in the gym, he loves spending time with his family, fishing and being outdoors.

He can’t wait to get back into the gym and drive this program to ongoing successes while motivating the athletes to reach for their full potential through hard work, respect and a love of the game they play.

Please take time to read the Parent Player Handbook carefully so you know what is expected of you as a player and a parent. If your daughter makes one of the teams you will both need to sign the back pages and turn into your coach before the 1st practice.
